If you know me, you know that I change the color of my nails on (at least) a weekly basis. I also have a legitimate Essie addiction, like every time I go to Target or the grocery store I pick up a new color, so there’s that. Maybe this is a genetic trait I’ve inherited from my mom (who basically hoards OPI and Essie) but I’m really not complaining here.
And now that the weather is cooler, holiday parties are coming up and the Christmas season is officially upon us, I’m breaking out my cheery and bright lacquers to bring some warmth and flair to my look! This also happens to be the only time of the year that glittery red and green nail polish is socially accepted without question.
1. it’s genius
My annual go-to shade for the beginning of December — I love it with an all black outfit and deep maroon lips. This shimmery marsala (Pantone 2015 Color of the Year!) isn’t too sparkly to be tacky, but dazzling enough to reflect the pure joy of Christmas tinsel and twinkling lights.
2. angora cardi
A muted version of it’s genius (hold the glitter), this dusty rose shade will subtly accent any fall/winter look. Classic and feminine, I almost consider this one a neutral. Almost!
Essie describes this shade as a “rich medium brown,” but it’s actually an iridescent mixture of violet, olive, and deep gray. This glimmering combination is a hot surprise during dull winter weather!
Ugh I love this one — black teal lacquer couldn’t be any more suitable for the Yuletide season, especially because it looks like a literal pine tree. Since it’s a deeper shade it also works as a Christmas-y twist on the current dark nail trend.
Thanks for reading! Leave me a comment if you have any other holiday nail/beauty favorites — I’m always wanting to try new colors and brands!
