If you’re anything like me, you absolutely hate wearing suit sets — I’m talking a black blazer and matching pencil skirt or pants — I can’t stand it! I need more creativity in my workplace attire. I can recognize that not all industries allow fashion flexibility (and at times for good reason), but I truly wish they did.
I put together this look in the spirit of the continual job search that is senior year of college. It’s conservative enough for job interviews (I mean, it’s J.Crew) but doesn’t have that over-the-top-your-mom’s-old-blazer stuffy feel. And let’s talk about this shirtdress: the fabric is the perfect weight for summer or fall with just the right level of opaqueness. What else could we ask of a white cotton dress?
I tend to go a litttttle crazy with the jewels… Especially with a simple outfit like this one.
Maybe you caught my August Faves last week, but if not, let me explain my current infatuation with loafers. They’re understated chic, especially in a neutral color (i.e. black). I’m loving their classic shape and this suede pair adds an extra oomph to any outfit with little tassels hanging off the top! So obsessed, I love textured details like that. I’ll be transitioning into cooler weather with these and I have a feeling they’re going to be a fall/winter staple in my closet.
Thanks for reading, loves!
