I recently had the most amazing opportunity to work a few shows and presentations at New York Fashion Week! While the thought of NYFW usually brings to mind crazy images of Carrie Bradshaw wearing her most ridiculously chic outfits, I had quite the opposite experience. The field of public relations doesn’t allow for expressive creativity during the craziest week of the year. We stick to basics — all black, flat shoes, minimal accessories — and thank goodness for that. We’re on our feet for hours on end, constantly running back and forth between venues and the office while getting minimal hours of sleep. Though an all-black look can seem restricting, it’s almost nice to have a uniform. As some of my coworkers have said, “What could be more stressful than actually having to dress yourself for fashion week?”
To keep it as simple as possible, I paired some high waisted skinnies with a breathable, loose top. Flattering, yet comfortable.
As far as beauty goes, I stuck to basics: minimal makeup and a 15 minute hairstyle. I blew out my locks with a 2 inch round brush and then briefly went over them with a flatiron (the Nume Megastar, seriously loving it. Purchase on Amazon for a more reasonable price!).
Minimal accessories = a watch and one bracelet, maybe a choker if I’m feeling it. Bags are stowed away during events, but I like to go for something sleek that also has enough room for necessities (water, notebook, makeup, etc.).
And that’s a wrap! Thanks for reading, loves!
