I discovered some awesome things in February that I just have to share with y’all. If you follow my Instagram you might’ve already seen a few of these, but read on for a few items I’ve been loving in February!
These sunnies are everything right now. Basically, I brought my old Free People sunglasses into Ikea when I was furniture shopping last month and somehow, they didn’t make it home with me (pretty sure I left them on a random display table or something). Once I realized they were gone forever, I sought out a new pair of classic black sunglasses — and these are perfect. They’re sleek and modern but the wiry round shape gives off a vintage vibe. Plus, they’re $24!
I’ve wanted a bomber jacket ever since they became a staple piece, but I couldn’t find the right one. Black or olive bomber jackets didn’t mix well with my mostly feminine wardrobe — they felt a little harsh, maybe a bit too edgy for me. I also wasn’t quite sure how to wear them. I almost gave up on the bomber trend when I stumbled across this jacket on another blog — I fell in love! The color is absolutely perfect for feminine girls like myself. It’s a gorgeous blend of lavender and pink. The quilted texture adds some detail and makes the jacket utilitarian (it’s super warm). Bottom line: I love this jacket! And it’s less than $30. I know — you need it too! 🙂
I’m completely obsessed with these jeans. Raw hemmed denim is having a serious moment right now and I don’t think that it’s going to end anytime soon! Basically, an undone hem updates any regular skinny jean and gives it a whole new look. Not only have I loved Lucky Brand jeans for years, but also I’m super happy they’ve taken on this trend in a classic way. These skinnies are incredibly comfortable and don’t bag out — I usually wear them 3-4 times before washing and they fit like a glove every time. Great for running errands, having lunch, going out… You name it!
I received this cutie pair of earrings from Self Made Modern and I’m absolutely in love. The colors play off each other so well. They’re honestly pretty large for “stud” type earrings, but I love them as a statement piece.
To be completely honest, I’ve wanted these shoes for months on end. I was so worried about spending (a good amount of) money on them because they’re definitely an out-there/trend piece. After finally purchasing them, I realized it was one of the best decisions I’ve made — fashion is supposed to be fun! Style and clothing are totally personal things and “rules” or “restrictions” shouldn’t limit what you buy if it’s something you truly love. At the end of the day, you’re the most confident in what you like wearing. Promise! Also, these shoes are super comfortable except for the fact that they take a toll on your back heel until they’re broken in. I still love them, but be warned!
I mentioned this on Instagram, but these brushes are bomb. I actually spent about $65 at Sephora on a new full face brush set which I promptly returned after purchasing the EcoTools anniversary set. These brushes are much better quality at such a better price! I like the controlled setting brush for highlighter and the finishing brush for bronzer/contouring. This set is almost sold out everywhere, but you can find it here!
Whilst on the topic of contouring… I finally got my very first contour kit! As y’all know, I have very fair skin. The idea of contouring has genuinely freaked me out a little — I definitely don’t want to look like a clown. I was at Sephora (actually to return that brush set I was talking about) and stumbled across this contour kit, which looks super simple and easy to use. It’s also relatively inexpensive for a six-shade palette. After (lightly) using it for a few weeks, I’m impressed with the results. The colors are ashy enough to where the contour looks natural, not muddy or orangey. I definitely recommend it for beginners.
This top coat is a literal game changer! I think I’ve mentioned it on here before, but it’s a necessity for anyone who does their nails at home. I actually coat it over my regular Essie or OPI nail polish — you don’t have to go out and buy the Essie Gel Couture polish to use with it. This top coat makes any color last for at least a week without chipping. Now, I only do my nails once every few weeks.
I’m a little late to the party on this one and it’s somewhat random, but this ice cream has made my month. I’ve been trying to work out (read: 2017 Goals lol) and eat healthier so I had to ditch some of my favorite sweets and seek out alternatives. Well, Halo Top rocks. It’s like 250-300 calories per pint (!) of ice cream. Not that I like to eat a pint of ice cream in one sitting, but it’s nice knowing that I could, worst case scenario. Favorite flavors: sea salt caramel, chocolate almond crunch.
Hope you enjoyed reading this post and hopefully you discovered a few new things to try out this month. We’re almost to Spring Break!!
