Spring has sprung, y’all!
This has got to be my favorite season, especially because I get to experience it deep in the heart of Texas. Bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes, primroses, bluebells, sunflowers, spider lilies and so many other gorgeous flowers are blooming across stretches of state highways and in the nooks and crannies of my city, Austin. I love it! Maybe it has something to do with my native Texan blood, but I’ve never appreciated the season of spring more anywhere else.
Seeing these amazing flowers got me all inspired to go a little crazy and splurge on a pair of jeans. They aren’t just any old jeans, though – they’ve got the spirit of spring all over them.
As the jeans are the star of the show, I have to start with them! Zara’s sizes can be pretty funky and I usually get a size 2, but I went up to a 4 in these for some extra wiggle room. They’re definitely more of a boyfriend style so I would recommend sizing up.
I found this white top from Forever21 about 2 weeks ago and I literally cannot find it on their website. Ugh! They probably still have it in store and it was about $12, which is a super steal for a top this versatile. I can already tell I’ll be wearing it all spring and summer long! I love how it has straps + off the shoulder sleeves, making it easy to throw on over a strapless bra (or no bra, if that’s you!). The duplicate I linked is the same price point from Forever21 but is completely off the shoulder. The second option I linked is from J.Crew Factory, so it’s a bit more expensive but still a super cute look (I have it in black – size down for this one!).
These nude block heels from Target are definitely a spring staple. Not only do they go with absolutely everything, but also they’re a replica of the Steve Madden ‘Irenee’ sandals at less than half the price. !!! Shop away, fashion girl!
Full disclosure here: I didn’t have to pay for the cutie Skagen bag photographed above! Last summer, I interned at a fashion public relations firm in New York City and got to take a few things home with me from the showroom. I actually do like Skagen’s bags though, so I linked their website if you’re interested in seeing their latest styles. The purse above is the Mikkeline Leather Mini Satchel in navy and I wear it almost every week.
If you have any questions about any of these items definitely leave me a comment or feel free to shoot me an email at email@example.com. I love hearing from you guys, especially when it’s feedback about what I’m posting.
Lastly, I hope to inspire y’all to embrace this spring season. It’s a time of new life and joyous beauty that you can physically see in the leaves and trees and flowers around us – take time to enjoy it! Head out for a picnic, take a hike, walk through a field of bluebonnets or simply be in the sun. Let’s celebrate the peaceful renewal that is springtime 🙂
